"Salsa
Stars" Workshop,
Oakland, CA February 1, 2003
THANKS - to all
those who attended. . .
Next Salsa Stars will be FALL 2003.
Hear what one student attending
Salsa Stars Feb 1, 2003 wrote us about our workshop:
Date:
Wed, 5 Feb 2003 00:51:51 EST
Subject: last Saturday's workshop
To: jake
Dear Jake:
I have to say that the workshop last Saturday was definitely
my wife's idea. I went through several of the sessions
without
much enthusiasm. I was being taught "shines" I'd never
use (close to cheerleading choreography, if you ask
me) and styles
that weren't what I thought of as smooth. Then, at
4:00 PM we hit your session. I watched you warming
up and knew
that
was how I wanted to dance. Your command of salsa was
awesome - you and Techi were wonderful together.
... It was wonderful to learn such an elegant step - now all
I have to do is work on my memory...
You'll be hearing from us for some private lessons in the
future. To put it simply, you were inspiring.
Sincerely, JE

-
- Which
one(s) should I take?
- Intermediate dancers:We
encourage everyone to try both of these workshops despite
- your level of experience.
This is because we introduce important techniques that will help
- you lead/follow and partner
dance in general in the first workshop. So, even while some of
- the content may be basic
for you if you are experienced, you can also pick up invaluable
- techniques as well.
The framework we teach is very important to your dancing at all
levels!
- Beginner dancers:
For beginners, the 1st workshop is a necessity and it will introduce
you
- to vital techniques to
help you develop your dancing. The 2nd workshop will contain
patterns
- that require more skills
such as multiple turns. While we teach these as part of
the patterns, it
- may be difficult for you
to execute them on the spot. However, it is your choice
on the level
- of challenge you prefer.
- Comments and Suggestions about Workshop
format, etc.? Mail us using our web
contact form..Thanks!
